The best attractions near Paddington

Paddington is an area that’s home to many luxury hotels and a fabulous variety of attractions. Naturally, it’s become the place of choice for tourists looking to experience the best of the city with convenience and comfort. From restaurants, parks, royal venues, and shopping avenues – this part of London has it all. And we can’t think of a better place for you to stay in if you’re planning on visiting London soon.

Fascinatingly, since the 1960s, the Paddington station has been synonymous with Paddington bear. You can find a charming bronze statue of the bear under the clock on Platform 1, where the Brown family found him in their first book.  Given that the Paddington railway station also gives you access to the Heathrow Express train, which takes you straight to Heathrow airport in just 15minutes, this is without a doubt, one of the most conveniently located areas in the city.

Explore Kensington Park and The Royal Gardens

Just a few minutes’ walk away from Paddington station, you can make your way to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, before hopping over to Regent’s Canal and Little Venice. From Little Venice, you can take a canal boat ride to Camden.

Paddington

If you love nature, you might just be surprised by the electric variety this part of the city can offer. Interestingly, compared to all the cities in Europe, the capital of the UK has the highest amount of green space. Other parks we recommend visiting include Holland Park and Regents Park, with the latter being ideally located near the London Zoo – which can be part of a perfect day out with the family.

On another day during your trip, you can perhaps visit Merchant Square, where you can enjoy deliciously appetising street food. Although, it’s worth noting that street food vendors only open up shop in the square on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you’re looking for restaurants and cafes in Paddington, then you’ll be privy and eclectic range of choices – from Arab cuisine to Turkish dining, all the way to Italian dishes – the area has it all.

Famous restaurants in the area include Zizzi Paddington, Angelus, and Nipa Thai. Book your stay at the Shaftesbury Hyde Park International or the Kensington London Hotel, which are both found near Paddington, to discover the dazzling area of Paddington.
